Housing and Family Services provides comprehensive support services for homeless families and youth. The program promotes safe and stable families through self-sufficiency and affordable housing programs.
- Transitional, rent-subsidized housing
- In-home, case management services
- Referrals to community resources
- Crisis hotline for homeless and at-risk homeless families
- Food, clothing and household goods
- Basic skills education in budgeting, nutrition, credit management, parenting and career counseling
July 2006 - June 2007 Accomplishments:
- Provided housing and intensive home based case management to 180 families in Family Tree housing programs, serving 508 persons.
- Provided limited case management and housing assistance to 563 formerly homeless families and individuals, serving a total of 1,497 persons on our waitlist.
- Provided resource and referral information to 4,500 families via its crisis helpline.
- 100% of the clients in the HFS transitional housing program developed personal plans and goals to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
- Of 70 families exiting HFS programs, 49 (70%) were in permanent housing at the time of exit.
- 60% of families who exited HFS programs increased their education and/or job experience and moved toward self-sufficiency.
