Legal Advocacy Program

Legal Advocacy Services for Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking

Family Tree’s Legal Advocacy Program helps increase immediate and long-term safety for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking by providing civil and criminal legal advocacy, crisis intervention, and information and referrals.

Court accompaniments are only available to Jefferson County residents; however all Metro Denver residents can attend our legal clinics for divorce, custody, and protection orders as well as our Spanish legal clinic.

Walk-Ins and Video Appointments Available
Family Tree Legal Advocates are taking in person or walk in appointments at PorchLight Family Justice Center, as well as video call appointments. You can request a video appointment (done through Zoom application) to speak with an advocate by emailing us at legaladvocates@thefamilytree.org. Once we receive an email request for an appointment, our staff will reach out to you and schedule that video appointment.

Our services are limited to working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. If you have other questions or concerns, or need to check the status of your case, you can do so by contacting the Jefferson County Self-Help Center at (720) 772-2501 or by visiting them online.

If you are in danger, we encourage you to use a safe computer that cannot be directly accessed by a partner/ex-partner. Click here to exit quickly.
