In recognition of National Runaway and Homeless Youth Awareness Month (November), Family Tree is increasing its efforts to educate youth and families about the realities of this alarming issue.

As one of few shelters in Colorado for runaway and homeless youth, Family Tree has been in a unique position to witness the crisis occurring in child welfare throughout the state. In addition to an increased number of runaway and homeless youth requesting our services over the past few years, the number of homeless students enrolled in public schools throughout Colorado increased 53% from 2007 – 2010 (source: Colorado Department of Education 2010 Homeless Youth Count).

Family Tree is asking you to participate in the awareness campaign by participating in the following efforts:
