Housing and Family Services provides comprehensive support services for homeless families and youth. The program promotes safe and stable families through self-sufficiency and affordable housing programs.

  • Transitional, rent-subsidized housing
  • In-home, case management services
  • Referrals to community resources
  • Crisis hotline for homeless and at-risk homeless families
  • Food, clothing and household goods
  • Basic skills education in budgeting, nutrition, credit management, parenting and career counseling 
  • Rent and utility assistance
     

July 2010 - June 2011 Accomplishments:

  • Provided housing and client centered case management to 564 families in Family Tree housing programs, serving 1,669 persons (805 adults and 864 children).  This number includes services to 286 households in Homelessness Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Programs.
  • Provided limited case management and housing assistance to 787 families and individuals, serving a total of 2,361 persons on our waitlist.
  • Provided resource and referral information to 7,035 families via its crisis helpline.
  • 100% of the clients in the HFS transitional housing program developed personal plans and goals to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Of 419 families exiting HFS programs, 354 (84%) were in permanent housing at the time of exit.
  • 69% of families who exited HFS programs increased their education and/or job experience and moved toward self-sufficiency.
