"I have grown so much since I've been in this program." |
|
This is a letter from a Housing and Family Services client currently residing at our Brookview transitional housing complex. She has been in the program for a year and a half and is well on her way to self-sufficiency. Please note: a pseudonym has been used to protect the identity of the client.
To Whom It May Concern:
I have grown so much since I’ve been in this program. When I came to Brookview [Housing and Family Services], I was a very shy girl with low self-esteem and I didn’t even know what I wanted to do with my life. I have grown so much since then. I have been going to school for a year now and I’m planning to finish this semester and go on to an internship for medical assisting. I eventually want to be a nurse. I am also planning on finding a part-time job until I finish school and get a job as a medical assistant. I have also been working on myself inside. I came from two domestic violence relationships and have had a few issues with depression. I have been to domestic violence classes and groups. I have also started to see a therapist for all of those issues. I have seen so many changes in myself and I am looking forward to my life in the future. I have made a lot of friends and am having a positive outlook on life for once in such a long time. I plan on doing whatever it takes to finish this program and become totally self-sufficient. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
