POSITION: Lead Advocate

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services/Women In Crisis

POSITION SUMMARY: Position acts as the team leader of regular and relief staff, as well as provides direct services with clients. Provides safety, structure, crisis intervention and advocacy for clients in a residential domestic violence shelter and to callers on the crisis line.  Provides case management to clients. Coverage may include days, evenings, and weekends.  Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or a related field or equivalent training and work experience. At least one year experience in counseling or advocacy with victims of domestic violence required.

SCHEDULE: Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours a week

POSITION: Legal Advocate

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services/Legal Advocacy Program

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Service, or related field or equivalent training and work experience.  Knowledge of domestic violence issues and one year experience working with battered women and the criminal justice system preferred.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Legal Advocate assists victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault with accompaniment to court for civil and criminal hearings, staffs protection order clinics at Jefferson County court house, provides liaison with victim advocacy agencies and the criminal justice system, and provides advocacy for shelter residents and non-residential clients.  Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people.

SCHEDULE: Part-time, non-exempt. Flexible-Open

POSITION: Overnight Advocate

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services/ Women in Crisis

QUALIFICATIONS Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or related field or equivalent training and work experience.  One year experience in Human Services field.  Knowledge of domestic violence issues.

POSITION SUMMARY: Position will provide safety, structure, crisis intervention, advocacy, and for clients in a residential shelter.  Coverage includes awake overnights and may include evenings and weekends.  Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people. Bilingual preferred.

SCHEDULE: Part-time, non-exempt, 10 hours a week, Saturday Overnight 9:30 pm-7:30 am.

POSITION: Chief Development Officer

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Gifts and Community Support Services

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with, or exposure to, not-for-profit development activities strongly preferred.  Leadership, management and supervisory experience required.  Undergraduate degree or comparable professional business development/sales/fundraising experience is preferred, as well as in-depth knowledge of Family Tree’s primary service areas.   Demonstrated ability to lead diverse agency functions, described above, to take the department to the next level. Ability to work independently, and to communicate and coordinate with several customers/clients, both internal and external, is required. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong ethics. Computer proficiency required, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.  Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, or comparable CRM software platforms, is a plus.  Must be a team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to initiate tasks and projects; organize and set priorities; and coordinate multiple tasks with multiple priorities, many of which are time sensitive.   

POSITION SUMMARY: Executive leadership position, strategically and operationally leading all Family Tree Gifts and Community Support departmental activities, including grants administration; individual, corporate, civic, foundation, major, and planned gifts; public relations, marketing and communications; volunteer services; donor database administration; special events; retail thrift store; and all direct fundraising campaigns.  This leadership position is responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing an ambitious fund development plan to raise unrestricted and restricted funding to support the mission of Family Tree, through and with a team of professionals representing the above areas.  The individual in this position also has direct responsibility for cultivation and solicitation with individual donors, including serving as the agency’s major gifts officer.

SCHEDULE: Primary work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, but this position will require, at times, non-traditional work hours, including some evenings and weekends.
