Homelessness-Self-Sufficiency Colorado/National

  • Catholic Charities and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Denver, Inc. - Offers counseling, child care, homeless shelters, transitional housing, employment resources, adoption, foster care, neighborhood centers and emergency assistance
  • Center for Women's Employment and Education - Job skills training for single parent welfare recipients.
  • Colorado Coalition for the Homeless - Works collaboratively toward the prevention and elimination of homelessness through education, advocacy, and improved services for the homeless
  • DOL (U.S. Department of Labor) - DOL has launched a website targeted for homeless service providers and advocates. The website contains information about employment and training programs and other initiatives that are crucial components to addressing the needs of the homeless.
  • Jeffco Action Center - Provides immediate response to basic human needs and promotes self-sufficiency through a continuum of emergency services
  • Jefferson Center for Mental Health- Promoting mental health and providing quality mental health services to persons with emotional problems and serios mental illness.

  • Mi Casa Resource Center for Women, Inc. - Promotes economic self-sufficiency for women through training, job placement and referrals. Prevention/ intervention programs for youth.
  • National Coalition for the Homeless - Works to end homelessness through public education, policy advocacy, grassroots organizing and technical assistance
  • Parent Pathways - Provides self-sufficiency services, counseling, interpreting services for the deaf, teen parent education, and shelter for abused teens and the homeless
  • Providence Network - Christian-based transitional home for low-income abused women and children who are leaving domestic violence situations.
  • Stride - Helps low-income people become self-sufficient
  • The Gathering Place - Supports women and their children experiencing homelessness or poverty by providing safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency
  • Tri-County Workforce Services - Provides a consolidated system of free, public-funded services for assisting individuals with career planning, employment and referrals. Serving Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties, Colorado.
  • Urban Peak - Serves homeless and runaway youth in metro Denver.
  • Volunteers of America - Provides homeless and senior services, food distribution, meals-on-wheels, battered women's shelter and services, and emergency assistance for paroled offenders.
  • Women's Bean Project - A stepping stone toward outside employment and personal and economic self-sufficiency for women who come from backgrounds of chronic unemployment, poverty or displacement.
