POSITION: Legal Advocacy Supervisor

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related field or equivalent training and work experience.  Knowledge of domestic violence issues and a minimum of three years’ experience working with Domestic Violence Victims and the criminal justice system required. Excellent verbal and written communication, computer, and organizational skills necessary.  Two year’s supervisory experience preferred and bilingual skills helpful.  Background checks required.

POSITION SUMMARY: Legal Advocacy Supervisor provides day-to-day administration and oversight of all components of the Legal Advocacy Program.  These components include the twice-daily protection order clinics at the Jefferson County Courthouse, pro se legal clinics for family law issues at the Family Tree Administration Building, court and non-court advocacy, telephone response and referrals, data collection, and grant reporting.  The Supervisor is the primary liaison to criminal justice professionals and also provides direct services as needed to victims.  Supervisor provides leadership within Family Tree Expanded Leadership Team to coordinate integrated services and provide an inter-related array of services that are culturally sensitive and focused on safety and empowerment of survivors of domestic violence.  Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people.
