POSITION: Food and Supplies Coordinator & weekend case management

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Housing & Family Stabilization - House of Hope

POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for planning and acquiring food and supplies in order to provide nutritious meals for adults, children and infants, taking into account individual needs. Employee must exercise independent judgment and be able to make decisions concerning budget, menus, purchasing. Coverage may include days, evenings, and weekends.  Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience working in a residential facility in a food related capacity preferred. General knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, food safety, budgeting, facility maintenance, inventory and procurement preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and good organizational skills. Knowledge of domestic violence or homelessness issues preferred.  Fluency in oral Spanish and capacity to write and read in Spanish, both at a high school graduate level, preferred.  State and national fingerprint based background check, Colorado Sex Offender Registry check, and a National Sex Offender Registry check required. Also required a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure acceptable driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Adhere to Family Tree mission, vision, values, goals, and personnel policies.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of House of Hope program, specifically client information per Family Tree policies, and state and federal laws protecting victims of domestic violence.
  3. Follow Family Tree child abuse reporting procedures as a mandated reporter.
  4. Meet with new clients to insure food or personal needs are being met.
  5. Complete all documentation and reporting as required by specific food programs
  6. Plan weekly menu in compliance with food programming
  7. Grocery shopping once or twice a week.
  8. Maintain accurate records for food program
  9. Maintain and keep clean walk-in refrigerator and food pantries.
  10. Perform regular inspections in food and supply storage areas, to insure compliance with health department regulations.  Organize and clean food storage areas, rotate food as necessary; monitor inventories
  11. Coordinate, in unison with other staff, any pick ups, distribution of donated food, work with volunteers donating meals or cooking meals.
  12. Provide crisis intervention, problem solving and linkage to Family Tree and community programs for residents and prospective clients in person.
  13. Participate in regular individual supervision sessions, staff meetings, staff retreats, and planning sessions, and agency-wide meetings as required. 
  14. Represent Family Tree professionally in the community.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Requires sufficient strength and mobility, with or without accommodations, to complete general household tasks; drive; and lift and carry groceries supplies, and donations of clothing and household items.  Also requires sufficient speech and hearing capabilities to communicate face-to-face with residents.

OTHER: Personal transportation, with mileage reimbursed, or a company vehicle may be utilized to efficiently attend community meetings, travel to various office or work locations and pick up groceries and supplies.

SCHEDULE: Full Time, hourly, non-exempt
