Community Family Resource Team (CFRT) Intern

Key Responsibilities

  • Interns would work with therapists to provide weekly trauma-informed individual and family therapy to households involving children/adolescents, parents/caregivers, and other involved family members that have expressed interest in services. 
  • Therapy is intended to address problematic behaviors, improve family functioning, and act as a protective factor against escalating involvement by DHS.
  • This program provides voluntary in-home services, and requires reliable transportation.

Sustained Outcome

  • Interns assist with cases referred to the Community Family Resource Team (CFRT) program by Jefferson and Adams County DHS workers.
  • The goal of CFRT is to improve well-being for families and divert children from out-of-home placement.


Training & Support

Once onboarded and trained, interns would function autonomously in this role, and may work from home when not providing direct services. 


Commitment
Internship hours require some flexibility, and afternoon/evening availability to accommodate client work/school schedules.

Qualifications

  • This position is for MSW Concentration (2nd year) students with prior experience counseling.
  • Basic psychotherapy and case management cases would be assigned for interns to conduct independently, and more intensive family/individual therapy would be provided with the oversight of a masters-level therapist.
