POSITION: Bilingual Outreach Advocate

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services Division-Domestic Violence Outreach Program

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services or related field or equivalent training and work experience. Two years experience working with victims/survivors of domestic violence preferred. Must have some knowledge of trauma-informed practices, multi-generational approaches and basic mental health issues. Must be fluent in oral and written Spanish and English. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated public speaking skills are necessary as this position requires the ability to provide educational trainings in the community. Basic computer competency necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing advocacy, individual and group support and education for English and Spanish speaking survivors of domestic violence. Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people. This position is also responsible for participating in outreach activities designed to inform the community of the dynamics of domestic violence, Family Tree’s Domestic Violence Support Services, and to engage survivors in those services. Some evenings required; ability to be flexible with schedule is preferred.

SCHEDULE: Full-Time-40-hours, Non-exempt, Monday-Friday, may include evenings and weekends.
