POSITION: Bilingual Legal Advocate

DIVISION/PROGRAM: Domestic Violence Services-Legal Advocacy Program


QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field or equivalent training and work experience. Knowledge of domestic violence issues and one year experience working with survivors of domestic violence and the criminal justice system preferred, background checks required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Bilingual Legal Advocate assists survivors (both Spanish and English speaking) of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault with accompaniment to court for civil and criminal hearings, staffs protection order clinics at Jefferson County court house, provides liaison with victim advocacy agencies and the criminal justice system, and provides advocacy for shelter residents and non-residential clients using a trauma informed, two-generational approach. Must demonstrate a commitment to serving and working with all populations and people.


SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Non-exempt
