Holiday Shop FAQ

Last year’s Holiday Shop was a huge success! Clients, volunteers and Family Tree team members all said it was a wonderful experience! Once again, donations will stock the shelves with special gifts and items needed to make a house a home. Clients will shop for their children and find special gifts for adults, as well.

*All gifts are provided to clients free of charge.

How can I get more information?

Please email Holidays@thefamilytree.org to help make the holidays bright. We will reply to your email with a shopping list. The shopping lists reflect the most requested wants and needs items. If possible, please purchase an item from each category to help us provide a complete shopping experience for all.

What will the shopping experience be like?

Family Tree clients will shop for gifts and household needs at Family Tree’s Holiday Shop! The former Treasure Trunk space will be set up as a festive holiday shop allowing people to choose items that most fit their family's wants and needs.

How much should I spend?

The shopping list provides the suggested value for each category. Please try to provide the appropriate value to help make for an easier shopping experience.

Do I have to purchase from each category on the shopping list?

If you are able to, yes, please. Otherwise, please focus on the following categories on the wish list; Gift Cards, Adult Gifts and Teen Gifts. Toy Drives are very numerous and we tend to have an overabundance of toys.

All gifts donated will go to Family Tree clients and programs.

Can I help with the shopping experience?

Yes, we would love to have your help! Volunteer support is absolutely necessary to pull off a successful holiday shop. Please email RHawthorne@thefamilytree.org to let her know you want to volunteer during the holidays! 

When are my items due and why so soon?

Please plan to drop off your shopped items between November 20 and December 12! Use this link to schedule your donation delivery. Clients begin shopping on December 13! The store needs to be set up in preparation for our shoppers! Please email Holidays@thefamilytree.org if you are unable to meet this deadline and need to make other arrangements.

Donations will be accepted at 5892 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 and scheduled through Sign-up Genius.

Should I wrap my gifts?

Please do not wrap the gifts. A gift-wrapping station is provided at the Holiday Shop along with festive holiday treats to enjoy while shopping!

I want to help during the holidays, but I do not like to shop.

May I give gift cards?

Yes! During the holiday season, families appreciate gift cards as a way to shop on their own and are also very popular among teens and young adults.

What happened to Adopt-a-Family?

It was time for Family Tree to make a change! Family Tree has grown over the years, and it is tough to gather wish lists from every client, collect the gifts, and deliver them all within a short period of time.

The Holiday Shop allows Family Tree clients to select gifts, wrap them and have them ready for the holiday celebrated in their household.

 

I would like to host a drive with my friends or at work.
